Happy Cinco de Mayo friends!
I hope you've gotten your Chipotle fix today or had a big ole margarita at lunch. Or maybe tonight? This recipe looks yummy in my tummy if you're lookin' for something festive this evening. I've never heard of a raw egg white in margaritas but honestly I'd be willing to try just about anything in a margarita.
In other holiday festiveness, Mother's day is less than a week away! I've rounded up a few fun and easy gifts in case you're looking for some inspiration.
I have so many instagram pictures I've printed that I need to do something with and love the idea of these coasters! Would be such a cute gift and they're really simple and inexpensive to make.
I have a serious obsession with homemade soaps. Whenever I go to Wegmans they have this little shelf in the organic section of a bazillion different scents and I can't help but throw like 4 in my cart every time. I've always been curious about how you can make your own so when I saw this post I about died. It looks simple and I just bought poppyseed the other day for no reason. *fate* I'll definitely be trying this soon!!
I've seen tons of these DIY sharpie mugs on Pinterest. Many of the reviews I read said lots of people had trouble with the marker washing off in the dishwasher. After lots of intense research I think I've figured out the formula people.
First off, make sure to buy cheap mugs. Most people suggest Walmart as a good source. These have inexpensive glaze on them so it'll be easier to incorporate the ink into the glaze when you bake. If you use regular sharpies, mark your mugs hand wash only. The dishwasher will erase all your beautiful work. I suggest using oil based sharpies. Once you're done penning your phrase or artwork, place mugs in a cool oven and turn to 450°. Bake for 30 minutes once the oven has reached 450° and then turn the oven off. Leave the mugs in the oven for another 15 minutes. Then let them cool over night before washing. These should stand up alright in the dishwasher, top rack only!
Ahhhhh, Birchbox. This is my go to gift for pretty much anyone. I've given this to most of my family members and everyone loves it! I had a subscription for 6 months and loved getting a little surprise in the mail after I had totally forgotten about it. They send awesome products and you can customize your box for skin color, type, hair color, type and more. The price is great too!
Does your mom have enough beauty products? Never fear. They have a subscription box for pretty much ANYTHING these days. Dog lovers, wine lovers, new moms or those expecting.
I hope these are helpful for your Mother's day inspirations!
I am zonked.. time for an afternoon siesta.
