I've been getting emails from the BabyCenter ever since we found out we were pregnant. First it told us how our baby was growing and what was going on in the womb. Then it told us how our infant was taking in the world around her and learning. How our baby would be sitting up soon, what she can eat and when to expect her first words.
And now those emails are referring to her as a TODDLER.
I can't deal.
M i l e s t o n e s : Our Hadley girl is freakin' active. She loves to chase daddy down the hallway and take walks up and down our block. She scales the stairs like a champ and is currently trying to figure out how to get down them. Changing her diapers is still a wrestling match. I swear she has abs of steal.
She now has FIVE TEETH. Her top two have broken through the gum and are still coming down. I can't wait to see her new toothy grin!! Teething has really messed with her sleep... especially when her top teeth were coming in. She's spent a few nights snuggling mommy and daddy... and we can't say we hate it :)
We took her to the doctor for her one year check up and found out Hadley is in the 93% for height. I wonder how long until she surpasses me..... those Montana genes are no joke!
She hasn't been saying words just yet but I swear she said hi to another baby the other day!!!! I told her, "Say hi to her Hadley" and she waved and said "Haiiiiiiii". I'm counting it as her first word. WHY NOT? Other than that, she babbles all day long. I love listening to her talk when she's staring out the window looking at all the birds and trees. I wish I knew what she was saying!!!
Lately she's discovered her tongue. She keeps sticking it out and touching it trying to figure out what that thing is doing. It's pretty funny to watch.
The next big things on our list are getting rid of the bottles and pacifiers completely. She does pretty well with sippy cups but I feel like she always prefers a bottle when she's really sleepy. Just going to have to tough it out for a few days! The one I'm really worried about is her paci. It's been so comforting for her whether she's fussy in the car, having a bad teething day or getting ready to fall asleep. Honestly, it'll probably be more of an inconvenience for us parents than her (how much screaming can we take?????) so we just need to bite the bullet!
F a v o r i t e F o o d s : Hadley girl is still eating like a champ.. we are so pumped about it! The doctor mentioned that many babies get picky in the next couple of months so we'll see how long we can keep this up.
Her current favorites are pickles, anything with grandma Lucy's famous marinara sauce on it, avocado, yogurt, sausage and pretty much all sweets. She had her first donut and scoop of ice cream this past month and her eyes lit up like mine probably do when I see a donut.
The other day I gave her a spoon and let her go HAM on her yogurt. She was being super fussy that day and I needed a few extra minutes to get some things done. Plus, I figured she could use some practice with her utensils... right???
HOLY YOGURT MONSTER.
We're still scrubbing it out of mysterious places... including Cali's fur.
S l e e p : Other than a few rough nights with those teeth, Hadley is still sleeping well through the night. We put her to bed around 8pm and she wakes up around 7:30am. She takes two naps during the day.. one around 9am and another later in the afternoon around 3pm. Getting at least an hour each is a GOOD day.
F a v o r i t e A c t i v i t i e s : Hadley loves music. We've been trying to keep the TV off during the day so when we come down for breakfast I always put music on. She loves dancing in her high chair and around the kitchen. If you give her a cell phone to DJ you've just become her best friend.
She's been exploring and getting into more things around the house. I've found her in just about every box, basket and hamper she can climb in. She's discovered more cabinets she can open in the bathrooms and laundry room. And pretty much any small object she finds on the floor goes straight in her mouth. I feel like we've been child proofing all over again.
One obsession of hers is her baby dolls. She carries them around, pushes them in her new baby doll stroller she got for her birthday and takes naps with them. It seriously never gets old watching her talk to them and kiss them on the head. I love it.
Another one of her obsessions.... her daddy. She is SUCH a daddy's girl these days!!! She used to always come to me when she was scared or upset but now I've been left in the dust!!!! COME BACK TO ME HADLEY ;)
I love seeing her with Josh. I can tell she feels so safe in his arms. It's too sweet!
We love you Hadley BABY!!!!
Happy Friday friends!! Enjoy your weekend :)
