Strawberry fields & decor crushes

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

Thank you baby jesus.

We went with the Piedmont sectional from Havertys and absolutely love it! There are plenty of seats, the cushions are comfortable and there's room for two humans to spoon... SCORE. And our little human really loves it too :)

She of course sees it as a giant L-shaped trampoline and I don't blame her.

Hadley was killing me all day today with her baby blues and strawberry themed outfit. I love how summery her little shorts are! And PS, they're now selling the "Strawberry fields forever" shirt for adults!

I found our DSLR and busted it out for a mini photo shoot today. Hadley was obsessed with the camera.. we went around the room taking pictures of her toys and Cali. She loved looking at them on the screen. She wouldn't go more than 2 feet away from the lens which is why there are a zillion close ups. I may be raising a selfie queen...

I'm convinced this was her "on purpose" smile.

Dancing with her baby :)

In between tornado Hadley and the couch delivery I put together some of my favorite pieces I've stumbled upon for home decor! As you can tell.. I'm slightly obsessed with vibrant colors. I'm already picturing that pillow on our couch... hopefully Josh doesn't mind all the pink and purple ;)

Summer Ikat throw pillow - Like I said, this pillow from DENY Designs is basically already on it's way to reside on our couch. I love the watercolor look and how I can use so many of the colors as accents around the room. It'll pop so much against the grey! If you're as obsessed with this print as I am.. you can check out all the other items they make using this pattern, which was hand drawn by an artist out of London. Shower curtains, serving trays, duvets... you name it!

R├ůSKOG kitchen cart - Ikea, I love you. I've been keeping my eye out for a cool bar cart we can put in our dining room and think I found the winner. If you want to see other ways you could use this cart, like as a night stand or bathroom accessory, check out this post by Apartment Therapy.

Organic blown glass pendants - Dear West Elm, please stop being so beautiful and out of my price range. Thanks, Lauren. These pendant lights are SO cool. If there is one thing I think will make a statement and last the test of time, it's light fixtures. Light fixtures and curtains. I fuggin' love curtains (college me would be shaking her head... lame-o). You could design the most beautiful room in the world but if there isn't enough light it just won't come across. If I can find a glass blower I might just try to DIY these myself... a girl can dream, right?

Geometric table lamp - Yet another light of some sort. I love the clean and modern look of this piece from The Land of Nod. I feel like it would work well in a room where we're trying to mix the rustic and more contemporary styles. They say you need at least 3 light sources in your living room (not counting one in the ceiling) so here's your number 2! Can you tell I've been doing a lot of research lately? Nerd alert.

Oliver Gal canvas print - Isn't she beautiful??? This print from Joss & Main jumped right off the page at me. I'm obsessed with gold everything (still going strong since this post) so this is right up my alley. I can see this in so many different rooms too!

Tobias garden stool - If you've ever watched HGTV I'm sure you've seen stools like these. Another great piece from Joss & Main (I love their collections this year!), this would be great in a living room or outdoors to fill a corner space that needs a little lovin'.

Rustic storage coffee table - Okay. This is like my dream, of all dreams, of a coffee table. Again, West Elm... stop doing this to me!!!! So functional and beautiful at the same time. Another one of my favorite combos is steel with raw, repurposed wood. The fact that this is mango wood just tickles my fancy... because it sounds cool. And I have never in my life heard of mango wood. Anyone else?

DIY HOME welcome mat - I feel like I'm poor already just typing these descriptions out. HELP. That's why we need a great ole DIY to wrap things up. Every new home needs a bomb ass welcome mat. Our pals over at A Beautiful Mess vamped up a textured rug from Target with durable porch paint. Choose your colors and decorate as your heart desires!

Next up, I'll be checking out some millions of curtains, wallpaper//decals and more prints. So far I love what Urban Walls has and all the whimsical prints over at Rifle Paper Co. I'll be sure to keep you updated on the progress over here as it slowly but surely comes together :)

Have a great evening friends!

  1. Do you stil have this couch and like it?

  2. Do you stil have this couch and like it?

    1. We do! The upholstery has held up great with messy toddler hands and it's still as comfy as ever. We're definitely happy with it!
