Newborn Must Haves

Hello my loves!
We are still alive over here. It's been just about a month since baby girl was born and I can't believe how fast the time has gone. How are we already one week into May?! CRAZYTOWN.
We have so many exciting things coming up.. Josh's mom and sister are coming from Montana this weekend to meet little Nora and celebrate Mother's Day with us. We haven't seen them since Christmas so it'll be so nice to spend some time with them :) Then Memorial Day weekend we're headed to Ocean City for Nora's first beach trip!!! I can't wait to play in the sand with Hadley and dress Nora up in itty bitty bathing suits. THE BEST. And then wedding season kicks off for us in June so it's going to be one bumpin' summer!!!!!
Today I'm sharing with you our must-have-list for everything newborn.
The baby market is seriously out of control. There is a trinket or gadget for pretty much anything you can think of, which can be super overwhelming as a new mom. There were some things we got with Hadley that I look back now and laugh like, "What was I really going to use that for?!" After being through it once before, I felt a little bit more prepared this time around when doing research on products and deciding what we really wanted to spend money on.
Solly Baby Wrap - This is, by far, my favorite baby item. I remember after Hadley was out of the newborn stage I had wished I used this with her more often, so this time around I had Nora in there on the second day we we're home. Baby wearing is something I personally love. It's a great way to bond with your baby and have them close while tending to other things around the house or out and about. I'm sure it depends on the baby, but Nora falls right asleep in there and will stay asleep for a solid 3 hours if you let her. By the end of it we're sweating all over each other but it is seriously the best!
We haven't made the move in purchasing a double stroller yet (any suggestions out there, feel free to throw them my way!!) so when we go out in the city I put Nora in the wrap and it works like a charm. I also think this is a MUST HAVE for families with multiple children. This was a bit of a life saver on my first few days home alone with Hadley when she really wanted me doing other things with her and I needed to calm Nora down. Hands free baby care, it really doesn't get much better.
Check out their website for tons of beautiful wraps, video tutorials on how to put the wrap on and get your babe all snuggled in there and they even offer wraps for little girls and their dolls! I know Hadley would be obsessed with that.
Chicco Lullago Portable Bassinet - This bassinet is a great no-fuss option, especially if you're looking for one you can easily pack up for trips. The only downside is it's lower to the ground so if your bed is higher up like ours is, it makes getting the baby in and out for late night feedings a little bit of a pain. If you're looking for more of a co-sleeping option, this one is on the pricier side but has adjustable height and a flexible side.
Graco Playyard with Changing Table - This model is a bit different than the one we received when Hadley was born (we don't have the removable seat) but we use this thing on the reg. We set this up in our family room so we can have a place for daytime naps and diaper changes. It packs up well, too, so it's gone on many a trip with us. I also like to put Hadley in the playyard when she's getting a little cray in the house. She thinks it's like some funny fort to play in and gives me some time to take care of whatever destruction she laid throughout the house.
Gripe Water - This stuff has been a bit of a life saver in those moments when Nora is inconsolable because of her gas pain. It's a natural remedy for colic and stomach discomfort, which both Hadley as a newborn and Nora seem to suffer from in the evenings. We use this after all other calming attempts have failed and it works almost immediately.
4Moms Mamaroo - I feel like this bouncer was sent straight from the future to save my life. It is SO cool. 4moms makes beautiful and functional products, and this is no different. There are several different options for the type of motion and sounds it will play. You can hook up your phone or other device to play your own music through it as well. You can also bluetooth connect your smart phone and control the swing from the comfort of your couch through their app. I mean COME ON. Genius! The seat is adjustable if you want to lay it back or sit up more and it's light weight enough to move it around your home as you want.
Basically, it's the bomb dot com.
Puj Tub - The Puj Tub is a great minimalist newborn bath tub. It folds up and fits into your kitchen or bathroom sink for easy baby bathing. When you're finished, it lays flat for easy storage. I really love the soft material as well.
And there you have it!
All of these products have been making this last month a tad bit easier as we adjust to life with little sleep and lots of adorable baby snuggles :)
^^^I keep telling her she's over the weight limit but she does what she wants apparently!!!! And she definitely almost fell asleep in there.
I'll post all about my nursing journey with Nora so far and all the essential products we use in that realm soon, so keep an eye out if you want to see how many different ways I can say the word boobies.
It should be fun.
