Christmas 2015

Merry Christmas everyone!!

I hope you all enjoyed your time with loved ones and are ready for some New Year fun.

The weather here has been truly wacky. It was near 70 degrees on Christmas Eve and Christmas, and we've had lots and lots of rain. Too much rain! I'm over the rain!

But we thoroughly enjoyed our first Christmas in our new home.

We had lots of fun firsts.. it was Nora's first Christmas, Madden's first Christmas and our first time hosting family here for Christmas Eve and morning. We made some delicious beef tenderloin, homemade mashed potatoes and roasted root vegetables. I just polished off some of the leftovers... NUMMMMM!!

I wasn't really sure what to expect from Hadley this year when she came down Christmas morning. I walked in the room with her, taking video and was waiting for this big reaction from her but she just held on to my leg and would not let go! I think she was feeling the pressure, poor girl!

After she warmed up a bit she had more fun passing out gifts than opening them. It was really sweet to watch :) Nora was watching everyone around her and enjoyed eating some yummy wrapping paper.

Their big present this year was this adorable retro kitchen that took Josh and I a box of wine and 4 hours to put together. It was sketchy there for a minute but we didn't kill each other, and thankfully, the girls love it!

After spending time here with my mom and sister, we went over to my dad's house to do dinner and more gifts with more family. Hadley got a tricycle and was so psyched about it! She's still getting the hang of it but I don't think it'll be long before she's flying down the driveway!

While our family photo came out pretty awesome, you should have seeeeen Hadley losing her shit trying to take this thing. I think she's taken on Sadness from Inside Out because she'll just drop her head down, chin to her chest, and sulk when she can't take anymore. Then she'll fall on the ground.. just like the character from the movie.

It's hard not to laugh at her, which makes her even more mad, but these photos we're priceless!

Drama mama is here, lord help us.

See you in 2016!!

Nora: 8 months

Hi angels!

I can't believe how fast the end of 2015 is flying by. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with family, have been settling into our new home AND we decided to keep the puppy. SHOCKING. I mean look at her. Little Christmas pup!

She's been learning really quickly and being so sweet with the girls. She sleeps all the time, it's crazy. I was expecting a little more activity!

But enough about that little munchkin and more about our other little munchkin..
Nora Leva June!

Our baby girl hit the 8 month mark this week and things have been changing quickly! I can already see my little baby turning into a little toddler. Her cradle cap, which I've been trying to get rid of for months, is finally falling off. Her baby eczema has started to clear up and her hair is growing out, the brown turning more blonde every day.

I'm so excited for all the fun changes to come in the next year with her but I'm mourning my little babe a bit! I won't be able to hold on to her for much longer!!!!!

M i l e s t o n e s  :  Nora has been crawling for a while now and took her first little step the other day! I have a feeling she'll be walking and running around here before the New Year. CRAZY TOWN!!!!

She got her first tooth not too long ago and has another one coming in on the bottom. It's been a bit scary breastfeeding her lately. She's bit me once already and that shit hurts!!!!!!

She hasn't been taking a bottle from anyone when Josh and I go out so we we're struggling with that a bit. We value getting a break from the kiddos here and there, so when you can't leave them without being worried, it's stressful! The other day I tried giving her a sippy cup with a soft straw and she loved it! Apparently she's just over the bottle.

Another new thing that has set in is her separation anxiety. If she can see me in the room and someone else is holding her, she becomes a hot mess! I've been doing some ducking... should I be ashamed? Nah......

F a v o r i t e  F o o d s  :  Feeding her real food has been a real roller coaster ride! We started giving her baby food at about 5 months and it went really well until she got a cold. Then she wouldn't take anything.

So we started trying to give her things from our own plates all mushed up because she seemed interested. That worked here and there. I don't know what happened but this week she just turned a leaf! She's been eating everything I give her and it's been so fun!

So far she loves yogurt and yogurt melts, guacamole and puffs.

S l e e p  :  Here and there she'll wake up for a middle of the night feeding/cuddle but most days she's sleeping 11 hours! HAAAAAALELLULJAH!!!!!

F a v o r i t e  A c t i v i t i e s  :  Nora loves walking around in her walker, "petting" the doggies (more like ripping their hair out), chewing on everything in site and pulling herself up. She's been exploring every nook and crannie, which has made cleaning and baby proofing real fun.

She gets the proudest look on her face when she's standing up without our help. Look at me homies!!! I'm about to be unstoppable!

She's also just recently discovered her tongue and has been doing all kinds of silly noises and spitting. It's adorable and kinda gross.

Q u i r k s  :   This girl is the all-time smirker. She is always looking at us with that face! What does she know?!

Her bottom lip is always poking out and she's mastered a pretty serious stare down. Basically she's got a better poker face than anyone in the family.

We love you so much, Nora girl!

You are such a happy baby and you bring so much joy to our lives every day! We just can't get enough of you, little angel.

We're baaaaaack..... in Maryland!

Hellooooo my dear love bugs!!!

So much has happened since I last posted...

Thanksgiving (NOM) and moving (WOOF) and a puppy (WHAT?!).

We moved into our new house a week and a day ago, and while moving is literally the fuggin' WORST, we are so happy to be here! I'm trying to take things day-by-day and not get overwhelmed with the chaos that is currently happening around us but that's easier said than done. My OCD wants everything to be cleaned, put away and organized STAT but I know that ain't happenin' for a hot minute.

It's been a huge adjustment going from living on the 3rd floor of a city condo to living in a house in the woods. So far these are my observations...

1. It is quiet as FUCK out here.
No sirens. No people talking outside the window. No helicopters flying over. No banging from neighbors on the other side of the wall. No car alarms. No street lights. No lights period. Quiet and dark.

2. The quiet and darkness is a little freaky but the star gazing is BANGIN'!!!!!!!

3. We're surrounded by farms and I can't wait to show up with my kids and ask about their produce... Hello? It's me. I've been wondering if after all...

*Adele interlude*

4. Our street name is so long that Josh and I are looking into naming our driveway something different. So far, it seems possible.

5. I love that I don't have to worry about people stealing packages off our stoop anymore. HalleFUGGINluja.

6. I got a lot more house to clean.... #help

7. Bringing in groceries just got a hell of a lot easier. I've gone twice already and left the babies sleeping in the car while I unloaded, which is something I never could have done before. Again, hallelujah.

8. If I have to be up at 6:30, I much prefer a sunrise in the country.

9. Our kitchen is my favorite spot in the house. My latest project is acquiring as many succulents and herbs as possible for our windowsill. I've got it about half full at the moment! I'm working on this green thumb and can't wait to try out a garden in the spring!!!

11. We can light shit on fire whenever we want here. This is definitely Josh's favorite. And probably Hadley's, too.

Here's some more pics from our new place...

We even set up the tripod to get a nice family photo before Thanksgiving. This red maple tree in front of our house is so pretty!

And a few more from lately... including our new pup, Madden! We're sort of "borrowing" her from my mom for a while to see if we can handle a new pup with the babies. My mom fosters puppies, and Josh and I both have a special spot in our hearts for black labs, so we just couldn't resist her!

So far she's been a really great doggy. Nora literally sat on her face earlier today and she just took it like a champ. She has been nipping and scratching at Hadley when she's hyper and trying to play, so that's our biggest concern right now. We're working with her so I hope we'll be able to add her to this WACKY bunch!!

^^^At our newest and most FAVORITE grocery.. WEGMANS!!!!!! #weggies

This is my latest favorite picture of Hadley. I pulled out all the Christmas decorations and she is obsessed with the snow globes. She's been carrying around two all to herself and wanted to pose in front of the tree with one.

She looks like such a big girl in those long johns and long locks! I can't take it!!!!!!
