DMV Feature: Kinder Farm Park

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Since we moved out here last November we have been exploring as much as possible to find our favorite new spots for us and the kiddos.

I've counted at least 7 different outdoor playgrounds we've been to in the area and this one is definitely one of our favorites.

Kinder Farm Park is located in Millersville, Maryland and has a large 3 level playground, farm animals, paved trails and several picnic areas.

The playground offers tons of different activities for kids of all ages, including swings, tons of different slides, rope climbing wall, balance beams, large play animals and more. It's surrounded by grassy area and covered seats for picnicking and cooling off in the shade.

Over the Summer they also add an awning to provide shade over the playground which is GEEENIUS!

There's also a large bathroom close by, praise his liiiiiight. What is up with all the playgrounds without bathrooms???? I do not get it.

Earlier this year they had baby pigs, goats and lambs born at the farm (although they're pretty big now!) so it's been really fun to take the girls to see them grow and change over time. The baby pigs we're so precious!!!!!

I love bringing the wagon here. I feel like it's not always convenient to bring the wagon vs. a stroller but with all the paths and large outdoor areas, it works out great.

Down past the playground there are two large open-air buildings that house several picnic tables, enough to host a birthday party or event. Just past those picnic buildings is a water fountain that has a dog bowl and water spout. The girls love playing in the water to cool down on a hot day.

There are a bunch of sheds on the property with plenty of tractor eye candy for the kiddos, a wood working shed, silohs, a bell for the kids to ring, small garden and an old, staged house they open for tours a few Saturdays a month. There's also a museum and some children's classes held at the building when you first drive in that feature old and new agriculture equipment and techniques, different birds and other critters.

To get in the park, it does cost $6 per vehicle a day. If you live here in Anne Arundel County you can buy a year pass for $30 which will get you into 3 other parks in the area.

I hope the humidity isn't suffocating you, wherever you're at!

Piggy kisses for you,
